Virtual Countries

These are some places you can take a virtual tour on the internet:

 Japanese House
Oxford University
Universal Studios
Lego Land
London

Review:
A virtual tour is a very good thing for people that do not have the money to actually go somewhere. They can also be a very bad thing as well. My reasons behind virtual tours being bad is that people who go through the internet and see heps of virtual tours it is possible that if the person is always on the tours. When they actually have the money to go there, they don't want to because they will think that they have already seen the world and it will only be a merage of pixels on a screen. On the other hand a good reason for virtual tours is the educational value. Example, a kid is in his class and his teacher tells him to research a museum of some sort and the kid I not very good at reading. He could take a virtual tour of the museum which would be better for him and he would learn more.

The best virtual tour that I have seen is a tour of a Japanese house. This tour is good because it is very interactive and it teaches you the basics of why a Japanese house is like. The worst virtual tour I have seen is any youtube tour due to the fact that you do not get to choose or decide where you go next or decide where you look.

  • I know this is very temping but you do not and I repeat DO NOT climb trees
  • Remember to do your homework because Miss C will kill you otherwise

Inventions

The invention I found is called the secret electrical socket stash

The secret electrical socket stash is a good idea due to the fact that you can hide away money from children and criminals from finding the money. Another reason the secret electrical socket stash
is good is because it is reliable. This is because you can be sure that no one will find the money because it is a very smart place to hide money because people would not think to look there.

On the other hand the secret electrical socket stash can be bad as well as being good.  For example, If a fire starts from the wall socket all the money will burn.

Poem #1

You can't escape me,
Not even if you try,
I am something that will cause you pain an misery

You can do better without me
but you are dumb enough to have me
To you, I am your friend
But I am not

I am what keeps you up crying at night
I can't help you, I never could
whatever you wanted I never had

If you want happiness stay away from me
You want a family, a wife, kids
well to bad

You should have stayed away
You should have thought it through
now you are in prison
I am marijuana
and I have come for you.

Translations

Explain what a translation is.
Translation is the movement of a shape on a grid and you use co-ordinates and to get the co-ordinates you use vectors.

Explain how a vector works. What does it look like?
indicate?
(3)
(8)
This is a vector. What is means as that these are what you use to know the co-ordinates and the top number means if you go left or right and how far and the bottom number indicates if the shape goes up or down. The rule is if the top number is a negative then the shape goes left and if it's not the shape goes right. The same applies with the bottom number, negative is down.

Give a real life example of when translation is used.
An example would be a forklift translating creates and boxes to new locations.

Drug Addiction: Graph

The Addiction chart
This chart represents how using drugs affect you. As you can see the first time someone uses the drug it makes the user feel good but then as you can also see the amazing feeling deteriorates and the user has started taking the drug to feel normal which means the user are addicted.

Is the book disappearing

Are books disappearing? People say that books in over forty years from now will be a thing of the past. By this I mean that technology will take the world by storm and there will be museums about books and every book that is not in a museum will be sold to the highest bidder which could be sold for over 20,000 dollars. If you believe that this will happen, you might want to hang onto your "book book" because in the future those books could make you very, very wealthy.

People of all ages these days prefer to read off e-book readers, I-pads or anything electronic because it is apparently "easier" that is just lazy. Why don't people just get off their electronic devices and go pick up an ACTUAL book for once.

In my class 10/31 kids have e-book readers or i-pads that they read off which is less than half but that doesn't mean any thing due to the fact that in my class we are multimedia which means that we all read off technology and barley any of us read real books.

Drugs: Marijuana

Marijuana is in the drug class "B"

Marijuana is a plant with five leaves emerging from the main stem, but when you us marijuana its appearance resembles compost and mulch.

Marijuana is grown (because it is a plant) and then it is compacted and "smooshed" into a compost like state.

People who use marijuana smoke it like a cigarette. It can also be used in a pipe known as a "bong."

Marijuana can cause lung cancer and affects the human brain and causes the person using marijuana to make choices that they would not usually make influenced under the drug.

Street names for the drug include: weed, devils lettuce, Mary Jane, Green Goblin, koosh, Pot, Dope, boom, and blunt.

Marijuana mostly affects your lungs and causes lung cancer.

Marijuana is in some hospitals because some believe that the drug can be used as medicine when more people have died and been badly affected instead of it helping people.

(The phone rings and Robin picks it up)

Robin: Hello, this is Robin who am I speaking with?

The Joker: Well if it isn't the boy blunder, may I speak with the caped crusader?

(Robin hangs up the phone at that very second and turns to Batman)

Rotating Shapes

What 3 things do you need to say to describe a rotation?
1. Where the centre of the grid is
2. How much has it turned
3. Whether the rotation is clockwise or anticlockwise

Explain what centre of rotation means
The centre of rotation is the spot that you choose to rotate the shape from. For example: if I have a square I could choose to rotate the shape form either the centre of the shape or from one of the corners.

Now use these 3 things to describe the rotation on Page 1 of the myimaths lesson (i.e. describe the rotation of the triangle)In the MYiMATHS lesson the have a triangle and rotate it 90º
The triangle was on its side and then when it rotated 90º it was facing upward.
The triangle's point was in the co-ordinates of (-4,5) then when it rotated 90º the point was in the
co-ordinates of (5,5)

Spelling checking

"MUM!!! Where are my favourite socks?" I asked yelling for help.
"And where are my Tuesday undies?" asked Dad searching though his drawers.
"You know I have to wear them today."
"Just wear Mondays undies, no one is going to know," replied Mum.
"No ones going to know you say, I'm going to know and to wear Mondays undies pfft, that would be idiotic," Dad answered back with a streak in his voice.
This was only the beginning of our family disaster for the next few weeks. Things were starting to disappear and fast, with Dad losing his Tuesday undies and me losing my favourite socks. Isaac then lost his favourite bow tie while Mum then lost her favourite dress. We thought we were going mental, "It's not like they could just hop up and run away," said Isaac.
Mum suggested that we recap our steps.
"When was the last time you had your items," she said.
We all replied before we realised washing day was the last time we had them.
"Maybe its the washing machine thats caused all this drama," Mum said with a glimpse of hope in her eyes.
As we checked the washing machine there was… Nothing, with nothing to prove. I decided to put a Go-pro in the machine to watch it in action to see if there was something suspicious really happening inside. What I didn’t realise was that the washing machine would take my Go-pro too.
"AHHH IT'S GONE!!!!" I yelled at the top of my voice, "What are we going to do?"
"Lets just give up," Mum said to me.
"Fine, if that’s the best idea," I moaned.
A few weeks later Isaac had dropped his toy car behind the washing machine. As we were looking for the car a pair of undies popped up out of the blue, just sitting there.
"Mum, look!" I said with a big grin on my face who would have guessed we both stood there smiling.

Story Editing

"Morning class," greeted Miss Green. It was an ordinary day and everyone was sitting at their wooden desks with pens and pencils by their side. The sweet sound of voices filling the room brought music to my ears. I decided to listen in on Brittneys conversation with Ella
"OMG, last night I reached into my bag to get out my book and it wasn’t there," explained Brittney
"No way!!" replied Ella "That exact thing happened to me."
I was sure I put it into my bag this is a little strange I thought to myself why were things disappearing.

Eventually the bell went and it was time to go home. I told my mum what I had witnessed at school and she was lost for words. That night I couldn't get Brittney and Ella's conversation out of my head, I grabbed my laptop out of my bag to google this mystery. As I unzipped the case I looked down only to see that there was no laptop in my bag. This is insane. I decided to look in the other pocket of my bag and to my surprise my lunch box was also missing.

The sun was shining, birds singing, it seemed like an ordinary day. I walked into my class which is usually full of colour but not today. My class looked like a prison cell. "What happened?" I gasped
"Don't worry kids," assured Miss Green "We have a thief in our class and I am going to get to the bottom of this one by one." Miss Green started checking our bags. Everyone seemed relaxed except for James. Miss Green made her way down the line and James was last to be checked. "Oh," said Miss Green looking rather lost what is this she asked James as she pulled out two books, a pencil case, my laptop and two class posters from James's bag

I was utterly shocked to say the least. "I am so sorry!!!!" cried James "it's just that everyone has laptops or books and our class is so colourful that I wanted to take some of it home to make my house look better,"
The truth is that you should be happy with what you have and not want stuff from other people.

"Mum!!! have you seen my iPod?"

PEEL Paragraph

My Dad:

My Dad is the ultimate father because he is thoughtful. Firstly, my dad is thoughtful because he pays attention to everything that others say. Like Christmas last year when about 5 months before christmas I said that a Martian Manhunter model looked cool and on christmas day I opened the rapping and it was The Martian Manhunter model. Secondly, My Dad is thoughtful because he can always tell when I or anyone else is sad. Like the time when I came home and just casually walked into my room and about 2 minutes later my Dad came i and said "Whats Wrong," and I was stunned that he knew I was hiding something. Finally,  My Dad can make me anyone absolutely over the moon when they are down. I say this because of the time when my brother hurt himself my dad in five minutes had my brother smiling and playing around and all Dad had to do was be himself, and i love him for that. In conclusion my dad is the most thoughtful person in the world.

PEEL Paragraph

Rimu is the best house at TIS

Rimu is the best house at TIS because of its advanced learning. Firstly, this is true because we use laptops and we get to use the internet to try and find the answers to difficult questions. Like the time the teacher gave us a blog post and we had to search the internet to find the answer and it took the whole class about 20 minutes to find the answer. Secondly, Rimu has a very strict learning environment when it comes to learning time. Like in class if you are caught talking you get put on the last man standing which is a system where if you talk you get put on the board and if you are on the board at the end of the day you are not allowed to bring your laptop to school the next day. Finally, Rimu is always learning new things. This is because the teachers in Rimu house always come up with something brand new to tach us every day. Like when we were doing how to end a story and the very next day we were taught how to use complex sentences. So with that said Rimu is the most advanced house at TIS.

PEEL Paragraph

Being a mum is easy:

Being a Mum is easy if you have children over the age of nine. This is because little kids under nine years old tend to throw tantrums while older children just cant be bothered causing a scene any where. For example I have family friend and they had a 4 year old boy and a 11 year old girl and I went to the super market and when the 4 year old was not aloud to get what he wanted he started to cry and scream and just make his mum angry. Then there was the 11 year old who was not aloud to get something and they just said "Fine," and it was done. Secondly, if you have a child under the age of nine they might not make sense at all when they are trying to tell you something like when I was sitting at the dinner table with my 5 year old brother he was trying to tell me something and he cant pronounce words that easily and I had no clue what he was saying. Finally eating vegetables, kids under nine HATE vegetables  while older children just happily eat them with no problem. Like the time my family were eating dinner and I ate all my dinner and my brother refused to even touch him pumpkin. So with that said being a mum is easier when you have a child over nine years old.

How to write a paragraph

Mr Diver is a successful principal because he can relate to others. He knows how to interact nicely to people of all ages like when he comes in the morning and plays hand-ball with the kids and cheats to make them all laugh. Secondly Mr Diver always offers to give good well thought out advice to help others like the time when he was telling a student to take their running shoes off because all of the teachers would question them and the kid thought that it was good advice. Finally Mr Diver will always do the best he can to benefit the school and the students. He did this by founding the Aims Games, which is a competition that other schools around the North Island and some schools across the country which has more competitors that the Commonwealth Games. Plus he always expects us to do the best we can and try to win. Over all Mr Diver has had a lot of time to perfect relating to others.
