Subordinating Conjunctions

The Chart

Nelson's average temperature in Winter is 5º, whereas Alexandra's average temperature in Winter is -2º.

In January in Taupo the temperature is 23º, until it gets to July and it drops to 2º.

Although Auckland is one of the most northern cities, it has the highest rainfall.

I think Alexandra has the coldest temperature, because it is near the bottom of the South Island.

Classroom Interuption

In room 42 we are constantly interrupted from our learning bye people who are delivering messages or someone over the loud-speaker talking for an annoying amount of time. This is a problem because of the fact that whenever somebody comes in the whole class looks at the person who is delivering the message.

My solutions are:

  • Put a sign on the door
  • Have one person that sits next to the door and they are the ones who politly walk up to Miss C

Social Experiment

I predict that this video is about a man who goes around the country and gets some random people off the street and putting them in a social area and see how the subject reacts to the environment. I also think it is that because of the fact it has the word experiment in the title witch means that someone is trying to find some thing out bye testing object or living creatures to do something to get results. It is like science fair where you have an aim and you have to find it out by experimenting and once you have finished you get your results.

Aim:
To find out how people would react to bad comments and good comments from a radio.

Hypothesis:
I think that people will react confused with good comments and bad comments because if people can not see the person who is saying it they could be confused.

Equipment & Method:
A radio
What you need to do is place a radio on the conner of a popular street e.g. Queens street in Auckland.
After you have completed that you need to set up the radio with a microphone and hide somewhere so when you speak into the microphone it will come out of the radio. (make sure you can see the people that walk past the radio)
Whenever anyone comes past insult or give the person a comment and see how they react.

Results:
The results show that people are confused with the good and bad comments but when they hear the good comments they smile and laugh and with the bad ones the look around and frown at the radio.

Conclusion:
In conclusion different people have different reactions to different things e.g. if you hear a bad comment you want to look around to find the person and find out why they said that. If you get a good comment you want to still find out who said it but you will have a different feeling.

How does a Glow stick work

What I think now (before we start)

I think when you snap a glow stick there is a substance that lights up when moved around.

What I think now (after hearing others’ ideas)
I now think that there is a capsule of thin class with a specific chemical is within the glow stick so when it snaps the chemical makes the liquid glow.

What I think now (after seeing Miss C cut open the tube)
I now know that there is a capsule of thin class with a specific chemical is within the glow stick so when it snaps the chemical makes the liquid glow,

What I think now (after researching)
I think that there has to be a special chemical to make the liquid glow and that the liquid has something special in it too. I think that the glow stick might be poisonous but I can not be sure.

3 questions I still have

Is a glow stick poisonous?

What is the chemical that makes the glow stick called?

Does the chemical reaction have a name and what is it if it does?

Synthesis is where you have a theory and you find out more until you have the correct answer by experimenting. Just like our science fair where you have Hypothesis and by the end you have a conclusion.

Interview with Bailey

Me: So you went to TGS the international school, what was your personal challenge?
Bailey: Um, it would have to be walking the Great Wall Of China, that was a challenge.
Me: Wow that sounds hard to do, I don't think I could do that even if I tried.
Bailey: Do you have any other questions?
Me: Many, like what country did you graduate in?
Bailey: It was Japan, Japan was also my favourite country too, all of the beautiful lights in Tokyo and lovely gardens throughout the land, Just awesome you should go there.
Me: I don't think I have enough time to go there but I will keep it in mind.
