Rotating Shapes

What 3 things do you need to say to describe a rotation?
1. Where the centre of the grid is
2. How much has it turned
3. Whether the rotation is clockwise or anticlockwise

Explain what centre of rotation means
The centre of rotation is the spot that you choose to rotate the shape from. For example: if I have a square I could choose to rotate the shape form either the centre of the shape or from one of the corners.

Now use these 3 things to describe the rotation on Page 1 of the myimaths lesson (i.e. describe the rotation of the triangle)In the MYiMATHS lesson the have a triangle and rotate it 90º
The triangle was on its side and then when it rotated 90º it was facing upward.
The triangle's point was in the co-ordinates of (-4,5) then when it rotated 90º the point was in the
co-ordinates of (5,5)
