Translations

Explain what a translation is.
Translation is the movement of a shape on a grid and you use co-ordinates and to get the co-ordinates you use vectors.

Explain how a vector works. What does it look like?
indicate?
(3)
(8)
This is a vector. What is means as that these are what you use to know the co-ordinates and the top number means if you go left or right and how far and the bottom number indicates if the shape goes up or down. The rule is if the top number is a negative then the shape goes left and if it's not the shape goes right. The same applies with the bottom number, negative is down.

Give a real life example of when translation is used.
An example would be a forklift translating creates and boxes to new locations.
