My writing comp story

Mt Ruapehu Plane Crash

It was a nice morning, I could not wait to get on my very first plane. I was flying from Palmerston North to Hamilton to go on a holiday with my dad and mum.The date was the 28th of October 1948. I got of of bed and ran into my Mum and Dads room and jumped on their bed telling them to get up over and over and over yelling “GET UP!!!! GET UP!!!!!!”

Mum told me that we would be flying on the ZK-AGK Kaka, but the plane was set to leave at 1:16pm. I wanted to go on the plane so bad but we had to run off to the shops put our dog Chase in the kennel and of course pack our stuff. First we had to drop off Chase at the kennel, then go down to the shops down at the corner on our street and when we were there we got some multigrain bread and some bottles of water for the plane ride.

When we arrived at home we started to pack our things, my mum packed my clothes and I had to pack all of my toys I got my Blanket that I call ‘blanky’ and my toys like my rag-doll and some of my pretend tea set and things like that.  I came from a rich family that had the money to do a lot of things like when my mum and dad will go off to some other place I have to stay at home with my grandma Nana Elca. This time was different though because Nana Elca had broke her leg playing shuffleboard in Miami.

We drove to the airport and got checked in. By then it was about 12:30pm because we took awhile to pack what we were taking. I was waiting on the chair and I was so excited that my mum had to yell at me to be quiet.

It s time to board the ZK-AGK kaka, I ran to the door and looked at the plane. We walked to the plane slowly so I could look at it. It was such a sight that I wanted to just look at it instead of going on the plane. My dad held my hand as we walked up the stairs to go in the plane I was so nervous when we got on because as soon as we got on the plane I thought we were going to crash. I told my dad and he said that there was no way that the plane would crash at all and that we were perfectly safe. That made me calm down some more though, but I was still scared.

As the plane took off I felt like I was going to spew, I did not thank god for that. As we started to fly I was looking out the window, the airport became and everything else became so small and I got so scared that I told mum. She said that I was overreacting and that nothing would happen.

As we started to fly over Mt Ruapehu I felt the plane drop. My stomach felt like it was about to explode and the only thing I could hear was people crying and screaming and the last words I heard in my whole life were from my parents they said together “We love you”.

CCCCCCCCRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Wow - really well worded! Got to the end and felt impacted by the way you've finished it - even though this isn't about you, its clever how you have put yourself into this persons feelings, really vivid account! Nice work son :)
